Loatinover Pounds has received another strong endorsement for his latest album, Ground 2 Glory, with Galxboy founder Thatiso Dube giving the project a perfect 10/10 rating.
Dube shared his reaction on X, simply writing “Pounds 10/10” before adding “O Mpya!!!” — a brief but significant co-sign from one of Pretoria’s recognised names in streetwear and youth culture.
Pretoria creativity meets Pretoria hip-hop
The endorsement carries added weight because both Dube and Loatinover Pounds are closely connected to Pretoria’s creative scene, albeit through different disciplines.
While Dube has built Galxboy into a prominent streetwear name, Loatinover Pounds has developed his musical identity around Pitori culture, local language and deeply personal storytelling.
That shared connection to the city makes the co-sign particularly fitting as Ground 2 Glory continues to establish its place in South African hip-hop.
‘Ground 2 Glory’ takes Loatinover Pounds further
Released on 25 September 2026 through Punyete Premier League / MODAR, Ground 2 Glory is Loatinover Pounds’ second studio album following his 2024 debut, Pray 4 Pitori.
The new project continues to draw heavily from his Pretoria roots while offering a more personal perspective on the journey from ambition to achievement.
Across the album, Loatinover Pounds explores themes including family, spirituality, personal struggles and the realities that accompany chasing success.
The result is a project that remains rooted in Pitori while giving listeners a deeper look into the rapper behind the music.
A-Reece, Focalistic and more feature
Loatinover Pounds also assembled an impressive group of collaborators for the album.
A-Reece appears on “Hood Gospels”, while Focalistic joins him on “Soweto Derby”.
Mochen, Mo Sufi, Khalee G, THE NORTHMOB. and Saint Cielo also contribute to the project, with Saint Cielo appearing on the title track.
The collaborations add different dimensions to an album that remains centred on Loatinover Pounds’ distinctive storytelling and Pretoria-inspired sound.
A strong start for the sophomore album
The response to Ground 2 Glory has extended beyond individual co-signs.
The album reportedly reached number one on Apple Music South Africa’s Top Albums chart following its release and delivered the biggest first-day streaming debut of Loatinover Pounds’ career.
That momentum builds on the foundation established by his earlier work.
He first attracted wider attention with the 2022 EP Hood Misunderstood, which featured the breakout track “Sosh Plata”, before following it with Pray 4 Pitori in 2024.
Since then, his blend of sharp lyricism, Pitori slang and reflective writing has helped him carve out a distinctive identity within South African hip-hop.
The 10/10 verdict adds to the conversation
Dube’s rating gives Ground 2 Glory another notable moment during its early release cycle.
Coming from a Pretoria creative with his own influence in the city’s street culture, the endorsement reinforces the connection between Loatinover Pounds’ music and the broader Pitori creative movement.
With the album already generating attention among listeners, the question now is whether Ground 2 Glory can maintain its momentum and become one of the defining projects of Loatinover Pounds’ career.
