Connie Ferguson has reportedly asked the Johannesburg High Court to evict a couple from her Ruimsig property over an alleged R549,302 debt. Here is what we know.

Actress and businesswoman Connie Ferguson has reportedly asked the Johannesburg High Court to evict a married couple from her Ruimsig property over an alleged unpaid debt of R549,302, according to the Sunday Times. The allegations come from court papers and have not been tested in court.

The Agreement

According to the papers, Ferguson’s company, Connie Ferguson Trading Enterprise, signed a sale agreement with Vikar and Trisarnia Maharaj on 28 October 2025. The couple moved in on 1 December 2025 and agreed to pay R65,000 a month in occupational rent, excluding municipal and other charges, while waiting for the property to be transferred.

The Alleged Arrears

Ferguson alleges the couple fell behind on payments. In May 2026, they reportedly blamed their financial trouble on fraud by their accountant and asked for more time. They allegedly paid a total of R165,000 across May and June, but Ferguson says R549,302 was still outstanding by late August.

Why She Wants Them Out

Ferguson argues that their continued occupation is costing her financial losses and stopping her company from using or selling the property.

What Happens Next

The Maharajs filed a notice of intention to oppose the application on 7 October. Their grounds for opposing it have not been disclosed, and the matter remains before the Johannesburg High Court.
