Bafana Bafana striker Lyle Foster marked his first full MLS appearance with a goal on Sunday, helping Houston Dynamo salvage a 2-2 draw away to Minnesota United. Fellow Bafana attacker Bongokuhle Hlongwane also started in the match, for Minnesota.
A Goal on the First Start
Foster, who joined Houston on loan from English side Burnley, had already played for the club but only as a substitute. Named in the starting line-up for the first time, he made an immediate impact by opening the scoring in the 18th minute.
Minnesota Hit Back
The home side came out stronger after the break. Kelvin Yeboah equalised in the 48th minute, and Marcus Caldeira put Minnesota ahead in the 78th.
Late Rescue for Houston
Houston kept pushing, and deep in stoppage time Duncan McGuire levelled the score to earn a point.
Hlongwane Also Starts
Hlongwane started for Minnesota and was replaced in the 64th minute as the hosts searched for a lead. He was not involved in the goals, as far as the source reports.
