Bafana Bafana head coach Pitso Mosimane has confirmed his final 27-man squad for South Africa’s crucial back-to-back 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches against Kenya.
The squad features a blend of experienced internationals, established PSL performers and emerging talent as South Africa prepares for two important encounters against the Harambee Stars.
The first match will take place at Orlando Stadium on Friday, 13 November, before Bafana travel to Kenya for the return fixture on Tuesday, 17 November 2026.
Bafana aim to maintain perfect AFCON qualifying record
South Africa have made an impressive start to their AFCON qualifying campaign, collecting six points from their opening two matches against Guinea and Eritrea.
Bafana currently occupy top spot in their group and will be determined to extend their winning run against Kenya.
Two positive results would strengthen South Africa’s position and bring Mosimane’s team closer to securing qualification for the 2027 AFCON tournament.
Siyanda Ndlovu’s inclusion attracts attention
One of the notable talking points from Mosimane’s squad announcement is the inclusion of Mamelodi Sundowns winger Siyanda Ndlovu.
The coach explained that Ndlovu’s recognition forms part of the national team’s long-term development strategy, which includes identifying and encouraging players who have made meaningful contributions.
Mosimane also referred to the national team’s Vision 2030, emphasising that selection should be viewed within a broader plan for the future rather than as a guarantee of a permanent place in the squad.
His comments underline the importance of building depth and identifying talent capable of contributing to Bafana Bafana in the years ahead.
