Five Orlando Pirates players, including Sipho Chaine and Oswin Appollis, have been selected by Pitso Mosimane for Bafana Bafana's November matches against Kenya.

Orlando Pirates will have a strong presence in the Bafana Bafana squad after five of their players received national team call-ups for the upcoming November international break.

The Buccaneers contingent will be part of Pitso Mosimane’s 27-man squad as South Africa prepares for two important Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying encounters against Kenya.

With domestic football set to pause for international fixtures, the five Pirates players will have an opportunity to showcase their abilities on the international stage while representing their country.

Five Orlando Pirates Players Selected by Pitso Mosimane

Goalkeeper Sipho Chaine headlines the Orlando Pirates contingent after earning another national team invitation.

Chaine has continued to impress with his performances between the posts for the Buccaneers, strengthening his position as one of the club’s important players.

Defender Lebone Seema has also been rewarded for his progress since making his Bafana Bafana debut.

Seema initially came on as a substitute during South Africa’s impressive 5-0 victory over Eritrea before earning his first starting opportunity in the 1-0 friendly win against Egypt.

Midfielder Thalente Mbatha is another notable inclusion after returning to the national team setup following an injury-enforced absence.

Meanwhile, attacking players Oswin Appollis and Tshepang Moremi have retained their places in Mosimane’s squad.

Both forwards will be hoping to make meaningful contributions as Bafana look to strengthen their position ahead of the 2027 AFCON tournament.

The five selections underline Orlando Pirates’ growing influence within the national team setup.

Bafana Bafana Prepare for Two Matches Against Kenya

Mosimane’s squad will face Kenya twice during the November international window, with both encounters expected to provide important tests for the South African side.

The first match will take place on Friday, 13 November, at Orlando Amstel Arena.

Bafana will then travel to Nairobi for the return fixture at Nyayo Stadium on Tuesday, 17 November.

Kenya, one of the co-hosts of the 2027 AFCON tournament alongside Uganda and Tanzania, will be looking to make home advantage count in the second encounter.

For South Africa, the fixtures present another opportunity to build momentum, assess squad depth and strengthen preparations for the continental competition.

Pirates Players Get Another Chance to Impress

The inclusion of five Orlando Pirates players will be encouraging news for the Soweto giants, particularly as their representatives continue to gain valuable international experience.

Chaine, Seema, Mbatha, Appollis and Moremi will now turn their attention to national team responsibilities before returning to club football.

Pirates supporters will undoubtedly be hoping their players can translate their club performances into positive contributions for Bafana Bafana.

Do you think all five Orlando Pirates stars deserve their places in Pitso Mosimane’s Bafana Bafana squad? Which player are you expecting to impress against Kenya?
