Izingane ZeSthembu reality star Vuyokazi Nciweni is shutting down internet speculation after a viral video sparked intense dating rumours between her and South African DJ and events promoter, Thendo Zonzo (popularly known as DJ Zonzo).

The buzz began after a clip of the two sharing a kiss at a club made its rounds across social media, leading many to assume they were Mzansi’s newest couple. However, Vuyokazi has stepped forward to clear the air, stating categorically that she is single and not dating the DJ.

“I Was Intoxicated” — Vuyokazi Explains What Really Happened

Reflecting on the night in question, Vuyokazi explained that she was out enjoying herself at a club in Pretoria when she met DJ Zonzo for the very first time. She admitted that alcohol heavily influenced her judgment that evening.

“If I knew, I would have distanced myself from him,” Vuyokazi admitted. “I met him at the club and we vibed. I was intoxicated. People who know me very well know that I would never post something like that.”

She also clarified that she wasn’t the one who uploaded the clip, pointing out that she doesn’t use her phone or record videos when she’s had too much to drink. Instead, she suspects the video was shared by DJ Zonzo or members of his entourage.

Frustrated by the Backlash and Judgement

For a notoriously private person, the sudden influx of assumptions and judgment has been incredibly frustrating. Vuyokazi expressed her anger over how quickly people jumped to conclusions without knowing the facts.

  • On the dating rumours: “It just pisses me off that all of these things are said. He’s not even my boyfriend, and I never said he’s my boyfriend.”
  • On how she handles relationships: “If I were to post my man, I would post him a proper way, not like that because I’ve never done something like that before.”

A Plea for Grace

Vuyokazi concluded by asking the public to stop judging her character based on a single, isolated night out where she wasn’t fully in her senses.

“It doesn’t make sense that I’m getting so harshly judged just by meeting a guy and you guys are saying he’s bad news,” she said. “It was my first time hearing of Zonzo. You guys are judging someone who was not even in her senses. I would never try to humiliate myself like that.”

While the internet might love a romance story, Vuyokazi is making it plain: it was just a misunderstood night out, and there is absolutely no relationship brewing between her and DJ Zonzo.
