Kaizer Chiefs aren’t done raiding Stellenbosch FC just yet! Fresh off sealing the deal for starlet Langelihle Phili, reports indicate that Amakhosi have set their sights on 21-year-old winger Faiz “Fire” Abrahams to bolster their attacking firepower ahead of the 2026/27 Betway Premiership season.
According to FARPost reporter Mthokozisi Dube, the Soweto giants are actively pursuing the explosive winger, with discussions potentially involving DDC defender Gopolang Taunyana in a swap deal.
Who is Faiz “Fire” Abrahams?
Born in Bishop Lavis, the dynamic attacker has built a reputation for explosive pace, direct dribbling, and lethal finishing:
- Grassroots Roots: Came through the famed Cape Town Spurs (formerly Ajax Cape Town) youth system.
- DDC Stardom: Joined Stellenbosch FC and dominated the DStv Diski Challenge, bagging 11 goals and claiming the DDC Player of the Season award.
- Senior & European Exposure: Made his Stellies debut against Kaizer Chiefs late in the 2024/25 campaign before a loan spell with Israeli outfit Hapoel Kfar Saba, where he registered 3 goals and 3 assists in just 11 games.
Having reportedly turned down an approach from Durban City, Abrahams is understood to be holding out for a move to Naturena to join head coach Fernando Da Cruz’s squad.
