Cassper Nyovest says the love he gets from fans lifts him beyond his own limits on stage. He shared the thought on social media after a run of high-energy performances at the Jozi Kota Festival 2026 in Johannesburg.
The Message
On Sunday morning, Cassper thanked his supporters. He called himself “one hell of a performer,” but said the crowd’s love puts him in a trance and turns him into something bigger than himself or his ability. He described the shows he played the night before as epic and ended with thanks and a blessing in Sesotho.
The Festival
Cassper performed at the festival on 3 October. The lineup also featured Makhadzi, Amanda Black, Kamo Mphela, Nasty C, A-Reece and Emtee. The event blends kota culture with live entertainment and ran under the theme “EZASE MZANSI: iDiski.”
Fans Respond
Videos from the festival showed Cassper working the stage and feeding off the crowd. Fans took to social media to praise him. One called him “The best,” another said nobody does it better in the hip-hop scene, and a third recalled screaming when he walked on after waiting all day.
The Takeaway
For Cassper, the exchange of energy with the audience is central to what makes his live shows special. By his own account, that energy can carry him into a different state and past what he considers his normal abilities.
