Tshego has hinted at a return to music after sharing a cryptic Instagram post. Fans are already calling for new music, an album and more collaborations.

South African singer and songwriter Tshego has sparked excitement among his fans after suggesting that he is ready to shift his attention back to music.

The artist recently shared a photo on his verified Instagram account, @tshego_worldwide, accompanied by the short but telling caption: “Ok back to the music now 🔋.” The post quickly drew attention from supporters, with many interpreting the message as a sign that new music could be on the way.

The image was credited to photographer and colourist @n_ndaba, while the reaction from fans reflected the anticipation surrounding Tshego’s next chapter.

Tshego ready to refocus on music

The latest update comes after a period in which Tshego has continued exploring different aspects of his creativity, including music videos and visual projects.

Among his recent work is the self-directed “Big Stepper” music video, as well as “UMLILO”, his collaboration with Nana Atta and Snaka. His ability to blend R&B, hip-hop and Afropop has remained a defining part of his artistic identity.

Tshego’s catalogue includes the SAMA-nominated “No Ties” featuring King Monada, while his breakout hit “Hennessy” helped establish him as one of South Africa’s notable genre-fluid artists.

Fans want new music

Tshego’s Instagram post immediately prompted fans to share their expectations for what could come next. Some supporters called for a new album, while others expressed interest in seeing him reunite with King Monada for another collaboration.

The reactions demonstrate that there is still significant demand for new material from the artist, particularly after his recent creative output.

Born in Atlanta to South African parents and raised largely in Mahikeng, Tshego rose to prominence during the mid-2010s as a songwriter and performer associated with the Family Tree movement.

He later strengthened his position as a solo artist with the release of his 2019 album Pink Panther, continuing to build a reputation for versatility and a hands-on approach to his music and visuals.

Although Tshego has not announced a specific project, single or release date, his latest message suggests that music is once again becoming a major focus.

For now, fans will have to wait and see whether the cryptic post is simply a renewed creative statement or the first hint of a bigger musical rollout.
