Orlando Pirates fans in South Africa will be able to watch the Buccaneers’ crucial CAF Champions League clash against African Stars live on SABC 2 on Friday evening.
The Soweto giants take a narrow 1-0 advantage into the second leg after securing victory in the first meeting in Botswana. With a place in the next stage of the competition at stake, Pirates will now look to finish the job on home soil.
SABC TO BROADCAST ORLANDO PIRATES CLASH
SABC has confirmed that Friday’s decisive encounter will be televised live on SABC 2, giving local supporters the opportunity to follow the Buccaneers’ continental campaign.
The match is scheduled for Friday, 23 October, with kick-off at 19:30.
Pirates will enter the fixture knowing that their one-goal advantage gives them an important head start, but the tie remains far from settled.
PIRATES HAVE WORK TO DO
The Buccaneers will be looking to build on their first-leg victory and secure progression to the next round of the CAF Champions League.
Head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou is expected to select a strong lineup as Pirates attempt to put the tie beyond doubt.
A positive start could be crucial, particularly with African Stars needing to score if they are to overturn the deficit. The Namibian champions are therefore unlikely to simply sit back and defend for the entire match.
That could create an open contest, with Pirates potentially looking to exploit spaces on the counterattack while protecting their aggregate advantage.
