Nadia Nakai has opened up about her views on motherhood, revealing that while she is not currently planning to have children, she would want the decision to become a parent to be intentional and entirely on her own terms.
The South African rapper offered a candid glimpse into her personal outlook on having children, making it clear that an unplanned pregnancy is not something she envisions for herself.
“There is no way I’m getting pregnant by accident. That doesn’t happen,” Nadia said. “So if I decide that I want to get pregnant, I’m going to choose.”
Nadia Nakai says motherhood would be a conscious decision
For the Money Back hitmaker, having a child would be something she would carefully consider rather than an unexpected development.
Although she does not currently have plans to become a mother, Nadia said she would want to have a say in the circumstances surrounding such a decision if her feelings change in the future.
The rapper also shared a personal preference that quickly became a talking point, saying she would be open to having a child with an Asian man.
“If I had to have a child then I wouldn’t mind having a child with an Asian man so I could have a Blasian baby,” she said.
‘I’m going to choose’
Nadia’s comments highlight her broader approach to relationships, family and personal choices.
She joked that while continuing to live her life, she could potentially keep someone in mind as a future candidate if she eventually decided she wanted to have a child.
“While I’m busy exploring, I’m going to start looking at candidates,” she said, explaining that she could one day approach someone she felt would be suitable to father her child.
The remarks were framed as a hypothetical scenario rather than an announcement that Nadia is actively looking to become a mother.
Nadia keeps motherhood on her own terms
The rapper has previously been open about different aspects of her personal life and career, and her latest comments offer another glimpse into how she approaches major life decisions.
For now, motherhood remains a possibility rather than an immediate plan.
What Nadia has made clear is that if she eventually chooses to have a child, she wants the decision to be deliberate and aligned with what she wants for her future.
For the moment, the rapper remains focused on her own journey — with motherhood firmly in the category of “maybe someday.”
