Netflix South Africa has released the official trailer for Stars and Vows: Anele & Buzza, offering viewers an intimate preview of the love story between media personality Anele Mdoda and her husband, Bonelela “Buzza” James Mgudlwa.
The upcoming wedding special promises a mix of romance, family moments, wedding preparations and cultural traditions as the couple prepares to share one of the most meaningful chapters of their lives with audiences.
In announcing the production, Netflix South Africa described the journey as one that follows Anele and Buzza through pre-wedding celebrations, emotional family encounters and the long-awaited moment when they say “I do.”
One of the standout revelations in the trailer is Anele’s admission that she first met Buzza when she was just 16 years old. Their history adds a sentimental dimension to the special, tracing a relationship that began in their younger years and eventually led to marriage.
Buzza also reflects on the rarity of finding lasting love with someone from one’s childhood, saying that not everyone gets the opportunity to spend the rest of their lives with their childhood sweetheart.
Titled Stars and Vows: Anele & Buzza, the production is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on 13 November 2026. The special will take viewers beyond the wedding celebrations, exploring the couple’s relationship, the preparations for their big day and the family dynamics that accompanied the journey.
The programme also highlights the cultural heritage surrounding their union, with Xhosa traditions forming an important part of the couple’s wedding celebrations. Their ceremony took place on 20 April 2025, bringing together loved ones to celebrate their commitment and shared heritage.
The wedding special was created by Nomzamo Mbatha, Teddy Geldart, Vuyo Sowah and Pet Tasara, with Pascual Wakefield serving as director.
For Anele and Buzza, the project offers an opportunity to share a more personal side of their relationship, beyond their public profiles. Alongside the romance, viewers can expect a closer look at the family connections, customs and emotional moments that helped shape their wedding experience.
