Blxckie confidently names himself and Nasty C among South Africa’s top three rappers, leaving fans debating who deserves the final spot.

Blxckie is confident about his standing in South African hip-hop, placing himself alongside Nasty C when asked to name the country’s current top three rappers.

The Durban-born rapper recently appeared on Press Play by Culture’s Biggest, where he was challenged to name his top three South African rappers, with one condition: he had to include himself.

While acknowledging the difficulty of choosing only three artists from the country’s deep pool of hip-hop talent, Blxckie made it clear that two names were already secured in his selection — Nasty C and himself.

“Nasty C is up there, facts for sure. I agree. I’m up there for sure,” he said.

Blxckie Is Not Competing for His Own Spot

The rapper’s confidence became even more apparent when he explained that, in his view, only one position remained open.

“There’s only one more person. That one person left. I don’t even fight for it. It’s no problem. They fight for third one. And I’m there, trust me,” he added.

Although Blxckie did not reveal who he would choose for the final spot, his comments suggest that he considers his own position among the country’s leading rappers firmly established.

His response has also given hip-hop fans another talking point in the ongoing debate about who currently dominates the South African rap scene.

New Album YENA Adds to His Momentum

Blxckie’s comments arrive shortly after the release of his latest album, YENA, which dropped on 30 October 2026.

The project features collaborations with A-Reece and Usimamane, among other artists, further highlighting his continued involvement in the local hip-hop landscape.

His willingness to place himself among the country’s best reflects the confidence he has in his artistry and his contribution to the genre.

Who Gets the Final Spot?

By naming Nasty C and himself, Blxckie has left fans with one unanswered question: which rapper deserves the remaining place in his top three?

He did not provide a third name, leaving the conversation open for debate among supporters of South African hip-hop.

With several established stars and emerging voices competing for recognition, the discussion is unlikely to end with one answer.

If Nasty C and Blxckie take two of the three spots, which South African rapper deserves the final place?
