Kaizer Chiefs’ campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup continues to struggle after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Zamalek SC at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

The home side was rescued from a near-loss by right-back Dillan Solomons, whose late equalizer prevented Zamalek from taking all three points.
- The Equalizer: Solomons’ goal came deep into stoppage time (the fourth of nine added minutes) when his intended cross was deflected into the net by Zamalek goalkeeper Mohamed Sobhi.
- Early Concession: The Chiefs were caught out early, conceding a goal in the third minute as Seifeddine Jaziri put Zamalek ahead after two quick chances.
- Near Miss: Gaston Sirino attempted a swift reply with a distant volley, but his effort unfortunately struck the post.

The result is another setback for Amakhosi, who now have only one point from two matches in Group C, following their opening 2-1 loss to Al Masry. Zamalek, meanwhile, moved to four points, having previously defeated Zambia’s Zesco United 1-0. Al Masry currently tops the group after a 3-2 away win against Zesco United on Friday night.

Kaizer Chiefs’ next CAF Confederation Cup match will be an away trip to Zambia on January 25th to face Zesco United.
