Taking to social media on Monday, January 5, the “Tshikwama” hitmaker expressed her profound thanks to her global fanbase, the Khadzinators. After several days in a Polokwane hospital, Makhadzi confirmed she has been discharged and is now recuperating under the watchful eye of her family.
“I feel a need to update you… because of the love you’ve shown me, not only in South Africa but all my African followers globally.” — Makhadzi
The 10-Week Mandate
While the singer’s spirit remains unbroken, her body requires rest. On strict orders from her medical team, Makhadzi will undergo 10 weeks of home care. This necessary recovery period means:
- No Live Performances: All scheduled shows for the next two and a half months are officially postponed.
- Focus on Healing: The injuries sustained on the N1 require intensive rest, though the singer is grateful that her voice remains unaffected.
From the Stage to the Studio
In true fighter fashion, Makhadzi refuses to let the downtime go to waste. While she cannot dance or perform her high-energy sets, she plans to channel her emotions into her craft.
“Ten weeks might look like I will be lonely, but I believe God is giving me time to write beautiful melodies,” she shared. The singer views this period as a “second chance to breathe” and a divine opportunity to create her next masterpiece.
