JOHANNESBURG — Media personality, rapper, and TV presenter Anele Zondo has officially broken her silence on her love life, confirming her relationship with hip-hop artist and podcaster L-Tido while shedding light on why she fiercely guards her private life.
Appearing on the latest episode of the popular Engineer Your Life podcast with Lungelo KM, the mother of one got incredibly candid about finding love again, protecting her daughter Mào, and why she refuses to reveal the identity of her child’s father.
Keeping the Sacred, Sacred: Motherhood & Privacy
Since giving birth to her daughter, Mào, two years ago, fans have continuously speculated about the father’s identity. For Anele, however, drawing a boundary between her public persona and her personal life is non-negotiable.
“It was intentional because that’s a part of my life that I’ve never necessarily been public about,” Anele explained. “I’ve never actually brought my relationships to the forefront as a public figure. So, I don’t owe anyone to tell them who the father of my child is… there’s still parts of my life that are very private and sacred.”
She admitted that she constantly battles with how much of her daughter to share online, citing that “people always have something to say,” which makes navigating social media as a parent highly challenging.
How L-Tido “Softened” Her World
The conversation quickly shifted to the viral photos of Anele and L-Tido cozying up at the Hollywoodbets Durban July 2026 earlier this month. The snapshots sent shockwaves through the local entertainment space—and Anele confirms those cozy vibes were entirely real.
“Wow, that picture broke the internet,” Anele smiled. “We posted a picture together. It was kind of saying something that we’ve probably been wanting to say forever. We’ve been putting in the work and getting to know each other, doing the actual relationship work.”
Anele couldn’t hide her admiration for the veteran rapper, praising his deep spiritual side and how he completely changed her perspective on romance:
“Let me tell you something about this man. He came into my life in a moment where I felt like ‘love, argg no.’ He changed my way of thinking. He came in and definitely softened me. It was the softness he brought to me by knowing that I’m not alone.”
She highlighted their shared faith as the ultimate anchor of their relationship, adding that they turn to prayer whenever they face difficult moments.
