TV presenter Ntombee Ngcobo Mzolo shares her heartbreak and frustration with FlySafair after a 3-hour flight delay caused her to miss her mom's birthday.

JOHANNESBURG — Well-known TV presenter and media personality Ntombee Ngcobo Mzolo has shared her immense disappointment on social media after an unexpected three-hour flight delay forced her to miss her mother’s birthday celebrations.

The star, who had meticulously planned her schedule to be home in time for the special family milestone, found herself grounded at the airport alongside her family.

Stranded at the Airport

Ntombee and her family were making their way back from the Eastern Cape when they were met with the frustrating news of a major FlySafair delay.

Taking to Instagram, she didn’t hide her frustration at the airline:

“Yaze yasenza | @flysafairza. The plan was to be home as soon as the games were done so we could celebrate our queen, but when we arrived at the airport, we were told our flight had been delayed by more than 3 hours. IMAGINE!”

Despite the distance and the travel nightmare, she made sure to send a beautiful, emotional public tribute to her mother, Mama Ngcobo, celebrating her role as the anchor of the family:

“It breaks our hearts that we won’t make it back in time to celebrate with you today, but the distance doesn’t change how we feel about you. Thank you for being our greatest blessing, our biggest supporter, and the heart of our family… Ngicela sithi Happy Birthday!”

Supporting Her Daughter in Gqeberha

Before the travel chaos unfolded, Ntombee had been enjoying a proud family moment in KuGompo (Gqeberha).

She had traveled to the Eastern Cape to support her daughter, Nomvelo “Nom Nom” Mzolo, who was leading her province as the Gauteng Hockey Captain at the Winter Sports Schools Championships.

Reflecting on the importance of parents showing up for their children, Ntombee shared an encouraging message to her followers:

“Life doesn’t always allow us to attend every training session or every match, but she knows that whether we’re there physically, emotionally or just cheering her on from afar, supporting her is always our number one priority.”

“To all parents, I want to encourage you to support your children and show up for them whenever you can. Your presence, your encouragement, and your belief in them can make all the difference.”

While the weekend ended with a heartbreaking travel disruption, Ntombee’s posts highlighted what matters most to her: unwavering family love and showing up for the people who count, even when the airlines don’t.
