Explore Kaizer Chiefs’ four new signings—Khanyisa Mayo, Adolf Mtasingwa, Thabo Moloisane, and Renaldo Leaner—and the latest squad transfer updates ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs have made a bold statement in the transfer market, adding four seasoned campaigners to their squad as they prepare to challenge for the 2026/27 Betway Premiership title.

Under the guidance of head coach Nasreddine Nabi, Amakhosi’s recruitment strategy reveals a clear focus on experience, leadership, and PSL-proven reliability.

Meet the Four New Faces at Naturena

  • Khanyisa Mayo (Attacker): Following a successful loan spell, Mayo completes a permanent transfer from Algerian club CR Belouizdad for a reported fee near R9.8 million. His goalscoring instincts and familiarity with the squad make him a crucial focal point in attack.
  • Adolf Mtasingwa (Defensive Midfielder): The 27-year-old Tanzanian vice-captain makes history as the first Tanzanian player to join Kaizer Chiefs. Arriving from Azam FC, Mtasingwa brings tactical discipline alongside six seasons of European experience in the Icelandic, Norwegian, and Finnish leagues.
  • Thabo Moloisane (Central Defender): A key figure in Stellenbosch FC’s recent defensive stability, Moloisane offers vital PSL experience and versatility, comfortably slotting in at center-back or right-back.
  • Renaldo Leaner (Goalkeeper): The 1.87m shot-stopper joins from Sekhukhune United to bolster competition in the goalkeeper department. Leaner’s arrival adds depth to the last line of defense.

Transfer Outlook: Lilepo Exit and Phili Pursuit

The recruitment drive may not be finished yet. Reports suggest Congolese winger Glody Lilepo—who recorded 5 goals and 4 assists in 27 league appearances last term—could be set for a summer exit.

Chiefs are reportedly targeting Stellenbosch FC’s 20-year-old winger Langelihle Phili (7 goals in 27 outings last season) as a primary replacement, with speculation mounting that Ashley Du Preez could be included as a potential trade piece.

Betway Premiership Kick-Off
