Orlando Pirates assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi is set to return to his duties after spending time away from the club while recovering from an injury.
Ncikazi was granted a short period away from his responsibilities to return to KwaZulu-Natal, where he could receive further medical attention and focus on his recovery.
“The Club has granted him a short period away from his duties to return to KwaZulu-Natal, where he will receive further medical attention and focus on his recovery,” the club said.
His expected return comes at an important stage of the season, with Pirates preparing for a demanding run of fixtures and the upcoming MTN8 final against Mamelodi Sundowns.
Ncikazi has been an important part of the Pirates technical team and his return will provide additional continuity to the coaching setup.
The club has not indicated that the coach’s absence will have any long-term impact on his role, with the latest update pointing towards his return following his recovery period.
Pirates supporters will now await further confirmation on when Ncikazi will officially resume his duties.
More updates on Mandla Ncikazi’s recovery and return to the Pirates bench will follow.
