Loatinover Pounds is celebrating a breakout week. His sophomore album Ground 2 Glory has passed one million streams across Spotify, YouTube and Apple Music in just seven days, and it has delivered his first No. 1 album and first No. 1 singles.
The Numbers
Ground 2 Glory reached No. 1 on the all-genre album charts in South Africa, Botswana and Eswatini. Two of its tracks also topped the hip-hop/rap singles charts at the same time: the introspective “My Life” and the hard-hitting “Hood Gospels,” featuring A-Reece.
A Message of Thanks
Loatinover Pounds marked the milestone with a message to fans, saying the album had gone from the ground up to glory in a single week. He thanked listeners for giving him his first No. 1 charting album and his first No. 1 charting singles, and said none of it would happen without their love and support.
Why the Speed Matters
Streaming success often builds over months, so a million streams in seven days stands out. The two chart-topping singles suggest listeners are not only playing the album as a whole but also pushing individual tracks to the top.
The Artwork
The announcement graphic shows a solitary figure on a spiral staircase rising into a cloudy sky, with the album title in white lettering above a list of achievements. It suits an artist and a project built around the idea of climbing from the foundation to the summit.
