DJ Sliqe and MashBeatz promise an all-star lineup on the Rush-Awa debut album, bringing together South African hip-hop OGs and new-generation artists.

South African production duo DJ Sliqe and MashBeatz are raising expectations for their upcoming Rush-Awa debut album, promising a project packed with major names from across the country’s hip-hop scene.

The duo, who have joined forces under the Rush-Awa banner, say the self-titled project will bring together an unusually broad mix of artists — from respected hip-hop veterans to some of the genre’s most exciting new-generation voices.

“Expect the Whole Game”

Speaking about the album’s guest appearances, DJ Sliqe and MashBeatz hinted that listeners should prepare for a lineup that goes well beyond a handful of familiar collaborators.

Their message was simple: “Expect the whole game.”

The producers suggested that if fans have wondered whether a particular artist could appear on the album, there is a good chance they will find their answer when the full project arrives.

The duo also teased collaborations designed to bridge different generations of South African hip-hop, promising appearances from established OGs alongside artists representing the new school.

That approach could make Rush-Awa, The Album less about a single sound or generation and more about bringing different parts of the culture into one project.

Rush-Awa Have Already Been Building the Blueprint

The collaborations released ahead of the album have already offered a preview of what DJ Sliqe and MashBeatz are trying to create.

Their single “Lapisa” brought together Lowfeye, LaCabra and Dolphin_DX, while “Ntshepe” featured Loatinover Pounds, Sjava and Cassper Nyovest.

They also expanded the reach of “Ballon d’Or” with a remix featuring Focalistic, MfanaTouchLine and Giftinperson.

Rather than sticking to one group of artists, the releases have demonstrated Rush-Awa’s interest in combining different styles, backgrounds and generations within the South African music landscape.

A Generational Hip-Hop Link-Up

The album’s emphasis on bringing together OGs and new-generation artists could become one of its defining features.

South African hip-hop has evolved through several generations, with different eras developing their own sounds, movements and audiences. By putting established figures alongside emerging talent, Rush-Awa have the opportunity to create musical connections that might not happen on traditional solo projects.

For DJ Sliqe and MashBeatz, the album also represents a chance to move beyond their roles as individual producers and establish Rush-Awa as a distinct creative identity.

Rush-Awa Album Drops This Friday

Rush-Awa, The Album is scheduled for release on 23 October 2026, with fans now waiting for the official tracklist and the full list of collaborators.

If the duo’s promise of an all-star lineup delivers, Rush-Awa could become one of the more ambitious South African hip-hop projects of the year — particularly for listeners interested in seeing established icons and the new generation share the same stage.

The countdown is officially on.
