The Durban-born R&B singer-songwriter has announced her next project on Instagram, but a release date, tracklist and collaborators are still under wraps
Nanette is already building anticipation for what comes next. The R&B singer-songwriter used Instagram to tease a new project titled “N4,” backing it with a confident message to her followers.
“I keep telling y’all I’m NOT playing this next project. N4 is coming 💋,” she wrote.
What we know (and don’t)
For now, that is the extent of the announcement. The release date, tracklist, potential collaborations and musical direction have not been confirmed, and it is unclear whether “N4” will open a new era or build on her earlier work.
The story so far
Nanette, whose full name is Nanette Sphesihle Nobethu Mbili Jolobe, has built her name on soulful vocals, personal songwriting and a willingness to try different sounds. Her discography includes Bad Weather (2022), The Waiting Room (2024) and Painfully Happy (2025). She has also worked with artists such as Nasty C, Blxckie, Tellaman and Major League DJz.
Painfully Happy explored the tension between professional progress and personal grief, showing a more vulnerable side of her story. In 2026 she followed it with Painfully Happy (Deluxe), which added five songs: “Baggage,” “Ask For Nun,” “One Life,” “Little Light” and “Taking Me Places.” The last of these brought together Nigerian songwriter Mbryo and South African producers MashBeatz and Christer. The deluxe edition leaned towards healing, hope and looking ahead.
What’s next
With no official details yet, all eyes are on what Nanette reveals next, whether that is new collaborations, a different sound or another deeply personal collection.
