Nasty C has a big Durban dream, and he is ready to chase it. The rapper says he would headline a show at Moses Mabhida Stadium as early as 2027, provided the right sponsors get behind it.
The interview
Speaking to Durban Culture, Nasty C was asked whether a stadium show at the landmark venue was realistic in the near future. He answered without hesitation, saying he is “1,000% keen” to make it happen.
The sponsor factor
The Durban-born star (real name Nsikayesihle Ngcobo) said brand backing is what would turn the idea into a date. If sponsors came forward, he said, he could do the show as soon as next year, and it would be the best moment of his career.
Why it matters
Moses Mabhida Stadium is one of Durban’s most recognisable landmarks, known for its striking design and large capacity. A headline show there would be a homecoming for an artist who has built his name through hit music, major collaborations and a growing international profile. It would also put South African hip-hop at the centre of a major stadium event, with the potential to draw fans from across the country and beyond.
Where things stand
For now, this is a wish, not a plan. No date has been announced, and Nasty C’s comments make clear that sponsorship is the key step. But the idea is now on the table, and Durban could see him on one of its biggest stages as early as next year.
