Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper and Rwandan international, Fiacre Ntwari, is currently in hospital recovering after successfully undergoing shoulder surgery.
The 26-year-old custodian, who joined Amakhosi from TS Galaxy in July with high expectations, has faced a challenging start to his career in Soweto, only making five appearances during the 2024/25 season.

Turbulent Start and Last Appearance
Ntwari, who was a regular for Rwanda and a standout keeper in the 2023/24 Betway Premiership, was initially tipped to challenge for the No. 1 jersey. However, a few shaky performances saw him drop down the pecking order behind Bruce Bvuma and Brandon Petersen.
His most recent appearance was on October 5th against Stellenbosch FC in the Carling Knockout last-16 match. This game was marked by controversy when, just before the penalty shootout, Ntwari reportedly refused to be substituted for Bvuma by the goalkeeper coach, Ilyes Mzoughi. Kaizer Chiefs ultimately lost the shootout 4–3.
Since that incident, Ntwari has not been included in the squad, with Bvuma returning as the backup to Petersen and academy graduate Naphtali Mokoena being promoted to the senior team.

Club Silence Sparks Speculation
The most noteworthy element of this development is the lack of official communication from the Soweto giants. Kaizer Chiefs has not issued any public statement regarding the goalkeeper’s injury, the subsequent surgery, or his expected recovery timeline. This silence has meant that fans and the media have had to rely on social media posts for information about Ntwari’s current status.
