Rising star Naledi Aphiwe is not holding back. The 19-year-old singer has officially entered the conversation surrounding a social media user accused of imitating the iconic Lamiez Holworthy, and her take is blunt: it’s time to stop the copying.
The drama intensified after the lookalike attempted to shut down comparisons to the Metro FM DJ, claiming she was being bullied by the public. Naledi, however, flipped the script, suggesting that the “deliberate imitation” is actually a form of disrespect toward Lamiez.
“Stop Moving Like Her”
In a direct social media post, Naledi dismissed the “bullying” narrative and called for authenticity.
“No one is bullying you; you’re the one bullying her. Lento oyenzayo (what you are doing) is so annoying. Grow into your own person,” Naledi wrote.
The singer didn’t stop there. She urged the woman to find her own voice rather than trying to replicate Lamiez’s lifestyle, speech, and fashion sense. Naledi reminded her followers that true power lies in individuality:
“You don’t need to move like her, talk like her, or live like her to be noticed. There’s only one you, and that’s your power.”
Social Media Reacts
Naledi’s comments have ignited a massive debate online. While many applaud the young artist for standing up for Lamiez, others are shocked by the lookalike’s insistence that she isn’t trying to mirror the DJ’s personality.
One viral comment summarized the frustration of many fans: “She’s made being Lamiez her whole personality, but now has the nerve to say she’s being bullied?”
