Kaizer Chiefs veteran forward Tashreeq Morris is reportedly set to leave Naturena for Durban City to reunite with former assistant Khalil Ben Youssef.

NATURENA, SOUTH AFRICA — The massive squad clean-out at Naturena shows absolutely no signs of slowing down. Veteran Kaizer Chiefs striker Tashreeq Morris is reportedly on the verge of parting ways with the Glamour Boys, with a high-profile move to Betway Premiership rivals Durban City heavily on the cards.

According to SABC Sport, the 32-year-old forward is highly favored to reunite with former Amakhosi assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef, who was recently unveiled as the tactical mastermind leading the Durban City project.

A Frustrating Wilderness Spell at Mayfair

Morris’s stint at Naturena never truly caught fire following his surprise mid-season arrival from SuperSport United in January 2025. Brought in by former head coach Nasreddine Nabi to provide physical, aerial cover, the experienced frontman structural struggles saw him make just four appearances across all competitions.

While he did manage to break his goalscoring duck with a late-season strike, the explosive domestic form of primary strike-weapon Flávio Silva has firmly pushed Morris out of the picture. With incoming head coach Fernando Da Cruz officially landing next week to launch pre-season training, management is looking to trim the wage bill to make room for fresh international attacking options.
