Johannesburg’s favorite winter music gathering is celebrating a major milestone. Liefde By Die Dam officially returns to the iconic Emmarentia Dam on Saturday, 1 August 2026, marking 10 years of singalongs, vibrant picnic blankets, and top-tier local live music.
Named after the classic Valiant Swart song, the daytime outdoor festival has grown over the past decade into a national phenomenon. To celebrate its 10th birthday, organizers are delivering a massive lineup pairing legendary South African icons alongside fresh, chart-topping talent.
A Star-Studded 10th Birthday Lineup
Festivalgoers can look forward to a full day of non-stop live performances across a world-class stage production. The 2026 anniversary lineup features:
- Festival Stalwarts & Legends: Iconic hitmakers Mango Groove, alternative rock titans Fokofpolisiekar, and festival regulars Die Heuwels Fantasties.
- Crowd Favorites: Jack Parow, Robbie Wessels, Early B, and Appel bringing high-energy pop and hip-hop vibes.
- Contemporary & Alternative Hits: Will Linley, aKING, Barto, Zoé, and Twee, plus surprise secret guest appearances planned throughout the day.
Beyond the music, attendees are encouraged to participate in the festival’s ongoing charitable initiative by bringing along a blanket to sit on and leaving it behind at the end of the day to be donated to the Liefde Wen outreach project for those in need.
