South African sports fans have plenty to look forward to this Heritage Day weekend, with a packed schedule spanning cricket, rugby and football.
The Proteas, Springbok Women, Bafana Bafana and South Africa’s four URC franchises are all in action, making the next few days a busy period for supporters.

Thursday, 24 September – Proteas vs Australia
Heritage Day gets underway with the first ODI between South Africa and Australia at Kingsmead in Durban.
The match is scheduled to begin at 09:30, giving cricket fans an early start to the long weekend.
The fixture will be available on SABC and SuperSport, with DStv and ICC streaming options also available.
Friday, 25 September – Stormers open URC campaign
The United Rugby Championship gets underway on Friday as the Stormers begin their new campaign away from home.
The Cape Town side travels to Galway to face Connacht, with kick-off scheduled for 20:45.

Saturday, 26 September – A huge day of South African sport

Lions vs Leinster – 13:30

The Springbok Women take on Italy in Pordenone in a WXV Global Series fixture.
Kick-off is scheduled for 14:30, with South Africa searching for their first victory in the competition.

Sharks vs Ospreys – 16:00
The Sharks are also at home on Saturday when they welcome Ospreys to Kings Park.
The Durban clash gets underway at 16:00, giving the Sharks an opportunity to open their URC campaign in front of their home supporters.
Bafana Bafana vs Guinea – 15:00
Football takes centre stage in the afternoon as Bafana Bafana host Guinea at Orlando Stadium.
The match marks Pitso Mosimane’s first game back in charge of South Africa and the opening fixture of Bafana’s 2027 AFCON qualification campaign.
Kick-off is scheduled for 15:00, with the match set to be broadcast on SABC.

Zebre vs Bulls – 18:30
The Bulls round off the South African URC schedule on Saturday when they travel to Parma to face Zebre.
