Blxckie has joined forces with Nigerian Afropop star L.A.X on “LONELY,” a melodic collaboration that brings together two distinctive voices from South Africa and Nigeria.
South African rapper and singer Blxckie has expanded his international catalogue with the release of “LONELY,” a new collaboration featuring Nigerian Afropop artist L.A.X.
The Durban-born artist announced the single on Instagram with a brief message to his fans:
“‘LONELY’ ft. @izzlax out now everywhere.”
Released on September 25, 2026, through Somnyama Music Entertainment in partnership with EMPIRE, the track runs for approximately two minutes and 45 seconds.
Blxckie Explores A More Melodic Sound
“LONELY” showcases a softer side of Blxckie’s artistry, with the artist placing his vocals and melodies at the centre of the track.
Known for moving between hip-hop, trap, R&B and soulful sounds, Blxckie uses the collaboration to lean further into the melodic elements of his music.
L.A.X brings his Afropop sensibilities to the record, complementing Blxckie with the melodic approach that has become a defining feature of his sound.
The Lagos-born artist, known for tracks such as “Caro” and “Sempe,” has built his catalogue around a blend of Afrobeats, R&B and pop influences.

The collaboration represents another international addition to Blxckie’s growing catalogue. The South African artist has previously worked with prominent names across the African music landscape, including Nasty C.
