Former Kaizer Chiefs superstar Knowledge Musona has dismissed speculation regarding his impending retirement, insisting he remains physically capable of competing at the highest level and will continue playing as long as his body allows.
The 36-year-old Zimbabwean forward—affectionately known as the “Smiling Assassin” during his goal-scoring prime across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East—recently featured for Zimbabwean champions Scottland FC against his former club, Kaizer Chiefs, in the Toyota Cup.
Fitness and Injury-Free Seasons Dictate Future
Speaking to Kick-Off, Musona emphasized that physical fitness and staying injury-free remain the main factors in determining the length of his career, rather than a predetermined date on the calendar.
“As for now, I’m still fit. I can still play at least 90% of the games, so as long as I’m injury free, I will continue to give everything that I have until the end,” Musona stated.
“I will not give it a timeline, but I will take each season as it comes and if injury free, I will play as much as I can.”

Musona’s professional journey began in 2009 with Kaizer Chiefs, where his clinical finishing earned him the PSL Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot and a high-profile transfer to Bundesliga outfit TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in 2011.
His globe-trotting career subsequently included successful stints in Germany, Belgium (KV Oostende and Anderlecht), and Saudi Arabia (Al-Tai and Al-Okhdood).
